The closeup screen

The closeup screen (Lupenbild) allows the operator in the Altstetten control center to open an individual station to carry out a special operation, for example to cancel a previously-cleared train routing.

Here is the close-up screen for Birmensdorf, one of the two-track stations along the single-track suburban (S-Bahn) line S9, which is part of Zurich-Altstetten's remote-control territory.

(To simplify the presentation, the author retouched this photo to exclude a number of display elements - such as drawf signals and track numbers - that the closeup screen normally presents.)
